Corwen defeated Holyhead Hotspur 1-0 in the Ardal Northern League Cup first round.
The match, which took place on Saturday, November 9, had to be replayed after the original was abandoned due to an on-field injury.
With the second round draw already made before the re-staged game, the winners now progress to face Trearddur Bay away on November 23.
The match saw both teams creating several chances, with Corwen's Tom Williams and Holyhead's Tomi Llywelyn both coming close to scoring in the first half.
Corwen's goalkeeper Tyler French made crucial saves to keep the scores level.
Early in the second half, Corwen was awarded a penalty.
Sam Henry stepped up to take the shot, but Holyhead's goalkeeper Guto Hughes guessed correctly and saved it, keeping the score at 0-0.
As the game approached the final stages, Holyhead thought they had taken the lead when the ball was headed home from a corner.
However, the referee had already blown for a foul before the ball hit the back of the net.
With 11 minutes left on the clock, Sam Henry collected the ball from a throw-in and unleashed a low shot at goal, which Guto Hughes saved.
But with just four minutes to go, the referee played advantage after a foul in the middle of the field, allowing Sam Henry to break through and slot the ball past Guto Hughes into the far post.
Two minutes later, Holyhead’s Kane Roberts tried his luck from distance, but he blasted his shot wide.
Corwen went on the attack from the resulting goal kick, which saw Tom Williams blast a shot over the bar.
The home side held on to their narrow lead despite Holyhead's late efforts to equalise and force a penalty shootout, but the closest them came to doing so was in the sixth minute of stoppage time when a shot was dragged narrowly wide of the post.
Corwen's victory means they will face Trearddur Bay away in the second round on November 23.
The fixture will be the first of back-to-back matches between the two teams, who are also set to face each other in the Welsh Cup on November 16.
The match was notable for the performance of both goalkeepers, with Tyler French for Corwen and Guto Hughes for Holyhead both making key saves.
