BANGOR City Men’s hockey team were held to a 2-2 draw at home to NWHL Division Two relegation rivals Bebington 2nds.
The Citizens looked in control of the match having raced into a two-goal first half lead, but the Wirral side struck twice in the last ten minutes to leave City ruing a host of missed opportunites.
Ash Hardaker put City one up after 17 minutes with an unstoppable low drive from a short corner as the home side dominated first half proceedings.
Harry Collins Jones, Keith Proudlove and Harry Street all went close to doubling Bangor’s advantage, before Matthew Rogers finally found the net to put the Blues deservedly two-nil up.
Bangor began the second half confidently by dictating possession and pinning the visitors back - but crucially they failed to capitalise on a host of further opportunities.
And Bebington took full advantage by pulling a goal back 10 minutes from time from a short corner, before repeating the feat with just three minutes on the clock, to seal a share of the spoils.
Bangor travel to Cheshire on Saturday to take on Deeside Ramblers 4ths, 4.30pm pushback.
