CAERNARFON remain in the North Wales Cricket League Division Four title hunt with a resounding ten-wicket home victory over Rhewl.
The home side produced an exceptional performance in the field to restrict their opponents to just 60 all out from 33 overs in the middle, with Jason Parry turning in an incredible spell of bowling that went a long way to securing success for the Cofis.
The bowler was in irresistible form to claim no fewer than eight wickets for the loss of just 16 runs from an eight-over spell, and the duo of Ian Morgan and Llyr Erddyn Davies also aided their side’s cause with the scalps of opening pair Dyfan Parry (5) and Gareth Billy Morewood.
As expected, the hosts reached their required target with minimal fuss and without the loss of a single wicket thanks to the opening stand from Parry and skipper Huw Erddyn Davies.
Parry rounded off an incredible all-round display with a knock of 23 not out, with Davies also demonstrating his class at the crease to finish unbeaten on 31.
The result leaves Caernarfon in second spot, 13 points behind Conwy 2nds with a game in hand ahead of their crucial trip to Llanrwst Seconds this Saturday.
