TITLE chasing Bangor City have pulled off another huge transfer coup with the signing of Marc Williams.
The prolific forward arrives at the VSM Stadium following his release by JD Welsh Premier League side Llandudno, where he played a significant role in their rise to prominence in the top flight and their qualification to the Europa League.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed a glittering career to date, having achieved international honours with the Welsh U21 side, and he also had a standout spell at Colwyn Bay under Frank Sinclair before making his move to the Giant Hospitality Stadium.
Williams did not disappoint the Tudno faithful and was their top score in their debut season in the division, which also earned him the WPL Player of the Season.
He is set to bolster a forward line that also includes Citizens’ hero Les Davies as the club looks to make an instant return to the WPL following their demotion to the Huws Gray Alliance.
Manager Craig Harrison, said: “Marc is another fantastic addition to the squad, with lots of experience in the Football League, WPL, Europa league, Conference and conference north. Finishing top goalscorer and Player of the Season two years ago. Also international experience at U21 level as well as semi pro.
"Marc will not only bring his fair share of goals but also assist as well. He can also play in a couple of different positions; attack midfield, centre forward and also as a number 10 as a top quality link up player. Marc is also a winner and will work hard for the team to help us try and be successful as the team is the most important thing moving forward.
“You need special players within the team structure to win you games and Marc is definitely one of them players.
“I think it’s very important to have goals in the team and with Les Davies, Alex Darlington, Marc Williams, Luke Wall, Robbie Parry and Sam Jones we have lots of goals and experience at WPL level and I’m sure they can transfer them into the HGA.”
