Jamell Anderson is returning to the Brailsford Sports Centre at Bangor University to run North Wales' only elite basketball summer camp.

Pro basketball player Anderson - who most recently appeared for the Manchester Giants in the British Basketball League, won Commonwealth gold for England in the 3x3 competition at the Birmingham 2022 games.

Now young North Wales basketball players can learn from him and a selection of special guest coaches from July 31-August 2 thanks to a partnership with Swish Basketball - the brainchild of Ynys Mon Celts coach Sion Parry.

Anderson has previously teamed up with Parry to deliver coaching days in Bangor but this will be their first residential camp.

Players aged 11-18 will have the choice of attending the day camp for two days or the residential camp for three days.

For younger players aged 3-11 there is a mini baller session taking place on July 31 at Holyhead Leisure Centre. Booking details can be found at  facebook.com/YnysMonCelts

"We are really excited about this camp," said Sion. "This is the only camp of its kind in North Wales, where players can live and breathe basketball for three days straight.

"The closest we used to have was way over in Chester many years ago, but there simply hasn't been a residential camp like this available to local players for so long.

"It's an incredible opportunity to push yourself and find out what it takes to make it from people who have been there. But it's also great fun because you are all there with a shared passion. Residential camps like this are a great experience for players - they make new friends and get to know other top players that they will train with, coach and compete against for years to come."
