The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across most of North Wales.

The warning - from 7pm on Monday until 10am on Tuesday - covers parts of Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.

Rain, sleet and snow may bring disruption from Monday evening and overnight into Tuesday morning.

There could be power cuts, delayed or cancelled bus and train services, and road closures - while some rural communities could be cut off.

The Met Office said that the most likely scenario is for most of the snow to accumulate on hills, with five to 10 cm possible above 200 metres and perhaps as much as 15 to 20 cm above 300 metres.

The forecasting service warned: "There is a small chance of snow settling at lower levels, where five to 10 cm would prove much more disruptive, but this remains very uncertain.

"As rain, sleet and snow clear on Tuesday morning, ice may form on untreated surfaces."

People are being told to prepare for weather warnings to change quickly. The Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.
