An "elegant" seaside town in North Wales has been named among the best in Britain and one of "eight coastal gems you need to visit".
From Brighton to St Andrews, Tenby to Llandudno, Britain is spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful seaside towns.
BBC Countyfile said: "Sunkissed, surf-washed, blessed with beaches or birdlife, the UK’s coastal resorts are delightfully diverse."
But with so many to choose from, which ones are the best?

The BBC site has finally put the debate to bed compiling a list of Britain's best seaside towns that are a must visit.

The best seaside towns in Britain, according to BBC Countryfile, are:
- Salcombe
- Filey
- Berwick
- Brighton
- St Andrews
- Port Righ

Why Llandudno is among the best seaside towns in Britain
Llandudno was one of just eight places in Britain, and the only one in Wales, to feature among the best seaside towns list compiled by BBC Countryfile.

Explaining why, author Dixe Wills said: "Unusually for coastal tourism hotspots, Llandudno (pronounced ‘chllan-did-no’), was planned as a seaside resort in 1848 by architect Owen Williams, and retains an elegant Victorian sheen.
"Llandudno’s white-sand beach and attractive streets – some still sporting their original iron colonnades – have long lured the English: two out of five residents hail from the next-door nation.
"The town also hosts a large proportion of retirees."
