Llinos Medi MP has joined the Welsh Affairs Committee.

Her appointment was confirmed on October 24.

The committee plays a key role in supporting and promoting Welsh interests within the UK Parliament.

This position allows her to address issues affecting Wales, including those impacting the communities of Ynys Môn.

The Welsh Affairs Committee scrutinises government policy and legislation related to Wales, ensuring that Welsh priorities and challenges are heard on a national level.

Joining the committee will allow Medi MP to influence discussions on various issues, including economic growth, infrastructure improvements, rural challenges, and public services.

She will also be able to address uncertainty about nuclear energy in Wales, ensuring that commitments are made regarding Wylfa's future.

She said: "I’m honoured to join the Welsh Affairs Committee.

"It’s vital that Ynys Môn’s demands and concerns are not only heard but actively addressed in Parliament.

"This role is an opportunity to scrutinise decision by the UK government and address challenges such as nuclear energy, youth retention and safeguarding rural communities.”

Ann Davies, MP for Caerfyrddin, was also appointed to the committee, representing a broad range of voices in her constituency.

She said: "I am committed to ensuring that the voice of the Welsh people is heard, and I look forward to working hard for the interest of Caerfyrddin and Wales.

" It is also a privilege to sit on this committee alongside Llinos Medi, another Plaid Cymru MP and I’m certain that together we’ll be able to champion key issues and drive meaningful change for the people of Wales.”
