ROADS have reopened after fire crews successfully dealt with a serious lorry fire in Pwllheli this morning.
People living and working near Ala Road and Ffordd Caerdydd were told to stay away and keep all windows and doors closed after a B&M lorry caught fire outside the Treflan Surgery.
North Wales Police cordoned off the area and closed off Ffordd Caerdydd as North Wales Fire Service dealt with the blaze.
"We were called to a fire involving a heavy goods vehicle delivering goods to a local shop in the Lower Cardiff Road area of Pwllheli at 8:05am this morning," said a North Wales Fire Service spokesperson.
"At the height of the incident we had four appliances and two specialist units in attendance.
"The stop was received at 12:41hrs. One appliance remained at the scene, monitoring hotspots in the trailer and awaiting recovery of the vehicle.
"No one was injured during the incident."
Most of the roads in the area have now been reopened.
Videos posted online featured a number of bangs, leading eyewitness Shainee Mcdonnell to comment on Facebook "It’s like a firework factory."
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service did not confirm whether the cargo being transported was fireworks.
