A MAN from Bangor who was found to have been dealing two class A drugs and a class B drug has been jailed.

Callum Jones, 28, of Deiniol Road, was today (October 9) sentenced to three years’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Crown Court (sitting at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court).

He had previously admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis.

Prosecuting, Alexa Carrier told the court that, in May 2022, police searched two addresses linked to Jones, and found a quantity of drugs for personal use and more than £9,000 in cash.

A mobile phone belonging to Jones was examined, and showed him to have been “actively dealing” cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis, using secure messaging services and “sub-dealers”.

Defending Jones, who had 17 previous convictions for 30 offences, Elen Owen said he was “up to his eyes” in debt, so turned to dealing drugs to try to pay this off.

She said he is “extremely proud” of the fact that he is now debt-free, and that the people he was involved in this criminality with are now “out of his life”.

Jones, who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and had a “very heavy drug habit”, is showing “signs of maturing”, Ms Owen said, adding that he is now a father to a young girl.

Sentencing, Judge Timothy Petts told Jones: “It’s the not unfamiliar story of someone using drugs on a heavy level, getting into debt, and getting into dealing to pay off that debt.”

The drugs and paraphernalia seized will be forfeited and destroyed, while Jones will pay a statutory surcharge.
