An Anglesey salt producer has announced plans to build a new smokery.
Halen Môn - Anglesey Sea Salt said the purpose-built unit at its Brynsiencyn site will house production, packaging, and storage facilities.
The company launched its artisan smokery business in 2008, and has since developed various products, including a Great Taste award-winning Oak Smoked Water.
Solar panels will be installed on the roof of the new single-storey building, adding to Halen Môn's recent 100kw solar electricity system installation.
The new smokery is set to offer improved operational efficiency and aid future product development and innovation.

Alison Lea-Wilson, co-founder of Halen Môn, said: "The smokery business has gone from strength to strength and after several years in the planning, we’re pleased to have built our business to the point where we can make this significant investment into a brand new purpose-built facility.
"We have worked with architects and engineers to plan a facility that sits lightly on the site, with low visual impact, while giving us a modern and efficient facility to support a sustainable future."
Ms Lea-Wilson emphasised that "sensitive development" is a key part of the company's commitment to being a B Corp-accredited responsible business.
She said: "While the current smokery already operates well within the Welsh Air Quality Standards, and the voluntary Air Quality Guidelines set by the World Health Organisation, this new, state-of-the-art smokery gives us the opportunity to invest in engineering solutions which can reduce those levels even further.
"Everything we do here is driven by a commitment to celebrate the natural resources and reputation of our home here in Anglesey."
The company is a BRCGS-accredited supplier to major UK retailers, and its smoked products are sold to home cooks, manufacturers, and top restaurants.
Construction work will start this autumn with an estimated completion in spring 2025.
