A MALE had his electric scooter seized in Holyhead after failing to stop when asked to by police.
The male was riding it on the road, before trying to hide from police prior to officers catching up with him.
Police seized the e-scooter because it had no insurance, while the rider was reported for failing to stop.
A fee will now have to be paid by the owner to recover the scooter.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “These e-scooters are not ‘road legal’ and can only be used on ‘private land’ with the land owner’s consent.
“We are seeing a lot of e-scooters being ridden locally on the roads and pavements on the island. This is in contravention of the road traffic legislation.
“We are trying to educate users in the first instance on the legal requirements of using these scooters.
“However, we will not tolerate users who fail to stop for the police.”
