A BODY found in Gwynedd earlier this week has been identified as that of a missing man from the Shrewsbury area.
Andrew had not been seen since Saturday (September 21), while his white Audi car was found close to the beach in Barmouth that evening.
Following a call from a member of the public, police searching for him have today (September 25) discovered the body of a man on the beach in Tywyn.
Police have now confirmed this was Andrew.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Sadly, we can confirm that the body of a man that was found in Tywyn on Wednesday September 25th has now been formally identified as Andrew, who we circulated as missing from Shrewsbury earlier this week.
"There are thought to be no suspicious circumstances.
"Our deepest condolences remain with Andrew’s family and friends, who request that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
"Thank you to this who assisted in our searches."
