A MAN from Anglesey walked the island’s full coastal path in less than 48 hours last weekend, raising more than £3,500 for charity in doing so.
Adrian Williams completed the trek in 45 hours and 45 minutes, starting and finishing at Amlwch Port, in aid of Suicide Prevention UK, who he has collected £3,571 in donations for.
He was due to take on the walk in late August, but it was put back to September due to “factors beyond anyone’s control”, while his friend, Tony, joined him for the last 35 miles.
In August, the pub hosted a sponsored head shave, barbecue and disco, all to raise funds for the same charity.
Nadine Rudd, manager of The Market Tavern, said Suicide Prevention UK was its chosen charity because “mental health is very close to our hearts, and most of us know someone affected”.
She hailed Adrian’s “amazing achievement”, adding: “All of us at The Market Tavern applaud him.”
On his JustGiving page, Adrian wrote: “My team is fundraising for Suicide Prevention UK, an organization dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need.
“With your generous support, I can work towards a future where every individual feels valued and supported.
“Together, let's be the beacon of hope for those struggling with mental health challenges.”
