BELOW is a round-up of all court cases concerning offences which took place in, or with defendants from, Gwynedd, covered by the Chronicle this week (September 15-20):
Gwynedd man grabbed ex by throat and hit her against the floor
Iwan Lloyd, 25, of Derwen Deg, Ganllwyd, had been arguing with his ex-partner when he grabbed her by the throat and repeatedly hit her against the floor.
He threw bottles of beer around the house and smashed them against the walls, damaging items inside the property.
Men handled £200K of stolen Gwynedd goods including Land Rover and quadbike
Glenn Beresford, Liam Griffiths, Niall Lloyd and Brad Skidmore were sentenced for their involvement in this offending.
Their offending took place in the Tywyn, Dolgellau and Bala areas from August to October 2022.
Gwynedd man drunkenly kissed young girl in Llandudno Junction pub
Gethin Jones, 39, of Terfyn Terrace, Y Felinheli, was described as being “inappropriately tactile” with the girl at The Old Station Hotel.
He then leaned over and asked the girl to “give him a kiss”, before kissing her on the lips despite a relative telling him “absolutely not”.
Jail for man who assaulted two police officers in Caernarfon
Dewi Glyn Parry, 45, of Ffordd Llandygai, Llandygai, pushed one officer to the ground.
He grabbed hold of and put pressure on the wrist of another officer, causing swelling to her wrist.
Caernarfon shop was caught selling illicit tobacco and e-cigarettes
Undercover officers working with Gwynedd Council’s trading standards unit carried out a test purchase at Supercigs Convenience Store, on Stryd y Llyn, on September 26, 2023.
This resulted in the shop selling illegal tobacco to the officer.
‘You're not criminal masterminds’, judge tells Gwynedd coke dealers
Dafydd Barnes, 34, of Wenallt, Dolgellau; and Steven Connor, 28, of Garth Road, Porthmadog; were both involved in the supply of cocaine.
In 2019, officers searched the car which they were both in, and found £340 in cash, plastic “snap bags”, cocaine powder, cannabis, and mobile phones.
Trial delayed for suspended police officer after Porthmadog incident
Richard Williams, 42, was involved in the arrest of a man in Porthmadog in May 2023, which was shared widely on social media.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and non-fatal strangulation in February.
