A series of memory walks and cuppa mornings will be held in Llanberis and Bangor to raise money for dementia.

The events, organised by Eryri Co-operative's director, Gwenda Hughes, will take place during World Alzheimer’s Month.

The first memory walk is scheduled for September 21 in Llanberis, starting at 2.30pm from Y Glyn car park along Lon Las Peris to the tunnel and back.

The leisurely walk of approximately one mile is accessible for all abilities and ages.

A more challenging walk to the summit of Yr Wyddfa is planned for October 5, starting at 7.30am from the Royal Victoria Hotel car park for the ascent to the summit along the Llanberis Path.

This will be followed by a Dylan and Neil gig at 3pm in the Royal Victoria Hotel.

The free gig will include a cuppa, cake and raffle for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Bangor 'cuppa mornings' will take place on September 20 at Y Gorlan, High Street, Bangor, from 10.30am until 12.30pm, and on September 27 at Cae Garnedd, Penrhosgarnedd from 10am until 12pm.

Ms Hughes said: “I’m delighted to arrange several exiting events to fundraise for dementia during World Alzheimer’s month this year.

“There are memory walks and cuppa mornings planned to fundraise for a cause which is close to my heart both personally and professionally.

“All funds raised will be in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

"We are in awe of our incredible fundraisers and thank all those walkers signed up to take part, as every step and pound raised will make a huge difference to the lives of people living with dementia."
