A restaurant manager who has worked with top chefs has joined a leading Welsh hotel.
Chris Zefeiropoulos has been recruited by five-star Palé Hall, in Llandderfel, near Bala.
The 32-year-old has previously worked with Heston Blumenthal at The Fat Duck, and Mark Birchall at The Barn.
He is now looking forward to supporting the hotel owners’ mission to win national recognition.
Originally from Greece, Mr Zefeiropoulos has also worked at the Hilton Hotel, Chester.
Despite enjoying his time at The Fat Duck, he disliked the daily commute and longed for the countryside.
Upon attending his interview with Palé Hall director Calum Milne, he instantly fell in love with the hotel and its surroundings.
He said: "It’s a stunning location.
"I am just thankful for being part of the Palé Hall team and having an opportunity to bring my set of high standards to the hotel.
"The hotel owners want to raise the standards even higher and I am more than happy to be part of the progression to the next level.
"I have been in the UK for five years and I am a foodie who loves British history and the countryside.
"I love exploring new places, meeting new people and expanding my knowledge to keep improving."
Palé Hall is an AA Five Red Star, Relais & Chateaux destination luxury country house hotel, with an acclaimed AA three-rosette and Michelin Green Star fine dining restaurant.
The hotel was bought in April by Anthony and Donna Cooper-Barney, who fell in love with the property and its surroundings on their first visit.
They plan to invest in the hotel, estate, and other local ventures to support the community and enhance Bala as a tourist destination.
The hotel also has royal connections, with Queen Victoria having stayed at Palé Hall for 10 days in August 1889.
The bedroom where she stayed has been named the Victoria room.
