WARMER weather is forecast in North Wales this weekend - but it won't stretch to a mini-heatwave.
The Met Office has forecast temperatures in the mid-20s on Friday, which will dip to around 20°C on Saturday and Sunday.
A Met Office forecast states: "Drier and brighter on Friday, although a risk of further rain in the south. Rain possibly becoming more widespread again into the weekend, but remaining warm and humid."
Forecasters have dispelled rumours of a mini-heatwave hitting the UK.
A spokesperson for the Met Office told the Independent: "It's not looking likely that we're going to see any sort of record temperatures".
When asked if temperatures could reach highs of 30C, a spokesperson said: "There's no truth in it at all."
They added: "This week we could see temperatures climb again towards the back end of the week to Friday and Saturday, but it’s not going to get anywhere near what's been quoted.
"We may get towards the high 20s, maybe a 27, possibly a 28. But it’s not looking likely that we’re going to see any sort of record temperatures. There's nothing I can see from our data [to indicate that]."
