More than 400 people attended the opening of new footpaths on the Bodorgan Estate in Anglesey.

The estate unveiled three new sections of the permissive path on Sunday, August 25.

The 'Wrth Y Bont' event was hosted near Aberffraw and was accompanied by a day of free family entertainment and live music.

Welsh comedian and broadcaster Tudur Owen was on hand to lead the proceedings.

He cut a ribbon and then led the attendees across one of the two newly installed footbridges.

These were created as part of a project to improve access to the estate.

During his address to the crowd, Mr Owen recalled his childhood spent in Anglesey and his affinity for the local area.

Attendees were later entertained with live music from bands including local talent 'Huw Aye Rebals' as well as 'Band Pres Llareggub' and 'Bau Cat'.

The recently reopened 'Y Goron' pub in Aberffraw operated a bar at the event, while local businesses 'Amigos Burritos' and 'Môn Ar Lwy' provided food.

Children were kept amused with circus skills, aerial circus workshops, and craft activities.

Bodorgan estate manager, Francesca Pridding, said: "I’m delighted to have welcomed so many people to the estate to launch the new permissive paths and celebrate the occasion with us.

"The team have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to get the new paths ready, and we're thrilled to invite people to explore more of the fantastic countryside the estate has to offer."

The new paths are part of the estate's SMS Project, a scheme that was partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh government.

The project, entitled 'Healing and Memory', aims to celebrate the cultural history and historic land use of this part of Southwest Anglesey.

The new routes now interconnect the villages of Llangadwaladr, Hermon and Aberffraw.
