A WOMAN has died following a crash in Barmouth earlier today (August 23).
At 1.14pm, police received a 999 call reporting a crash on the A496, in an area known as the Glandwr Straight.
The crash involved a white-coloured Suzuki Ignis and a silver-coloured Kia Carens.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
Three people were also airlifted, and one person was taken by ambulance, to hospital in Stoke.
Detective Constable Eleri Jones, of North Wales Police's Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this difficult time.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or anybody who may have been travelling along the A496 prior to the collision and who has dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.
“The road remains closed at this time.”
