AN ANGLESEY school has celebrated some great GCSE results today (August 22), including one pupil who achieved 12 A* grades and three As.
Individuals attaining outstanding results were Mari Prys (12 A*s and three As), Jacob Hargrave and Tomos Pickavance (both 11 A*s and two As), Enlli Pennant (10 A*s and three As), and Eurgain Hughes and Glwys Williams (both seven A*s, four As and two Bs).
Headteacher H. Emyr Williams said: “At the end of a challenging year for us, all the class of 2024 students at Ysgol David Hughes have once again achieved excellent GCSE results.
“Whilst acknowledging the impressive achievements of the most able is very important, what gives me the greatest pleasure is the consistent progress that our students make irrespective of their ability or starting point.
“We very much appreciate the support of our parents and the hard work and dedication of our teachers and support staff.
“As headteacher, I feel immensely proud of the achievements of our young people - well done, everybody.
“We congratulate all the pupils who have achieved their personal goals and look forward to welcoming the majority of the pupils back to the sixth form in September.”
