A FUNDRAISER event will be held at a pub on Anglesey this weekend in aid of a charity.

The Market Tavern, in Amlwch, will host the event in conjunction with Amlwch Fishing Club at its premises on Saturday (August 24).

There will be a sponsored head shave, barbecue and disco, all to raise funds for Suicide Prevention UK - www.justgiving.com/page/chococoastalpath48hr-1719663964946.

Adrian Williams, one of the pub’s regulars, is also attempting to walk the full Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path in 48 hours, starting on Friday afternoon.

Nadine Rudd, manager of The Market Tavern, said Suicide Prevention UK is its chosen charity because “mental health is very close to our hearts, and most of us know someone affected”.

On his JustGiving page, which has already surpassed its £1,000 target by receiving £1,271 in donations, Adrian wrote: “As I gear up for the 48-hour Anglesey Coastal Path challenge, I am filled with hope and determination to make a difference in the fight against suicide.

“My team is fundraising for Suicide Prevention UK, an organization dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need.

“On August 23, I will embark on this personal challenge, pushing my limits by walking the whole length of the Anglesey coastal path within a time frame of 48 hours.

“I’m starting in Amlwch Port at 10am on August 23, and am finishing in Amlwch Port at 10am on August 25 to raise £1,000 for this crucial cause.

“With your generous support, I can work towards a future where every individual feels valued and supported.

“Together, let's be the beacon of hope for those struggling with mental health challenges.”
