A MAN from Anglesey who suffered a cardiac arrest whilst driving home has met the two police officers who helped save him.
Neville Owen was passing through the A55 Conwy Tunnel on August 21, 2023 when his van began “ping ponging” off the tunnel walls after he collapsed behind the wheel and became unresponsive.
Within minutes of the incident, Traffic Wales North & Mid officers Leon Kynaston and his colleague were at the scene carrying out CPR.
North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit officers PC Duncan Logan and PC Huw Capper arrived shortly after with an automated external defibrillator (AED) that saved his life.
Neville, from Llanfairpwll, who had experienced an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), had no recollection of the crash.
The 64-year-old recently met PC Logan and PC Capper at their base in St Asaph for the first time since the incident.
“Words can't describe really how I feel, you know,” he told them.
