A WOMAN has been taken to hospital following a crash in Gwynedd, as the road remains closed in both directions.
The A487 between Tan y Bwlch and Penrhyndeudraeth shut earlier this afternoon (August 13), after the crash which occurred by Trwyn y Garnedd.
Police have warned motorists to avoid the area for the time being, and thanked members of the public for their patience.
A woman is in hospital with "life-threatening injuries".
Traffic Wales said they expect the road to be shut "for some time".
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.18am this morning to report a collision on the A487 near Tan-Y-Bwlch, Blaenau Ffestiniog.
"The road was closed whilst emergency services attended which subsequently resulted in a woman being taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
"The road remains closed, and we continue to ask road users to avoid the area for the time being."
