A WOMAN and her teenage daughter were rescued after getting into difficulty in water near Aberdyfi, Gwynedd yesterday (August 10).

The mother had tried to help her daughter after noticing her struggling, while her son had also been in the water but managed to get himself back to the beach.

Her husband called for help from the Coastguard at about 3.15pm, and signalled for assistance from a nearby paddleboarder, who managed to get the mother and daughter on his board and started floating them in.

On seeing the condition of one of the casualties, Coastguard crew members waded into the water to help them back to shore.

Both were deemed safe and well, although shaken by the experience, and were discharged on scene.

Aberdyfi Lifeboat said: “The father and son did the right thing and called Coastguard for help rather than entering the water and the member of the public with a paddleboard for rendering assistance.
