A MAN from Gwynedd has been banned from the roads for more than a decade and jailed after appearing in court for the third time in less than a year for driving offences.
Andrew Hayes, 61, of Nant Y Felin, Nefyn, was sentenced to 16 weeks’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (July 31).
Hayes, who pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, uninsured, and under the influence of alcohol, was disqualified from driving for 10 years and 10 months.

On July 10, Hayes drove a Ford Focus vehicle in Nefyn without a valid licence or insurance, and with 87 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath in his system.
This is more than twice the legal UK limit, which is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the local community in Nefyn for their support.
“We remain committed to making North Wales the safest place to work, live and visit.”
