A former slate mine in North Wales that is now full of trampolines, slides, double-decker buses and fun activities has been named among the best family days out in the UK.

With the summer holidays upon us you may be looking for things to do over the coming weeks to keep the kids occupied while they are off school.

To help give you some inspiration, The Times has come up with a list of the best family days out in the UK.

Introducing the list, the news outlet said: "For even the most creative of parents, school holidays and long weekends can seem a daunting prospect, especially if your brood spans a few different age groups.

"It’s even worse when the weather is miserable, and the only solution for keeping them entertained feels like screen time.

"But there are plenty of family-friendly activities around the UK whether you’re on a budget or happy to splash out."

The North Wales spot among the UK's best family days out

Bounce Below at Zip World - located in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park - was one of only three places named among the best family days out in the UK.

Zip World has a number of sites scattered across North Wales offering a range of activities.

From its Penrhyn Quarry (Bethesda) site where you will be able to tackle the 'Velocity' Zip Wire or its new Aero Explorer to its Fforest adventure park in Betws-y-Coed, Zip World has something for everyone.

But its Zip World's Llechwedd site and in particular its 'Bounce Below' session that caught the attention of The Times.
