A POLICE officer had to be taken to hospital after being assaulted by a suspect in a domestic incident in Gwynedd.

On Friday (July 5), police were called to the incident, in Barmouth – the suspect had fled the scene but was later located.

The suspect was arrested and charged for breach of a restraining order, assaulting an emergency worker, and obstructing an officer.

He was remanded into custody and will appear before court today (July 8).

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “It's unacceptable that any person is assaulted in their line of work.”

Elsewhere in Gwynedd last weekend, Natasha Williams, 30, of Abererch, was wanted for failing to appear at court; officers were tasked with locating and arresting her.

She was located on Friday evening, conveyed to custody, and transferred to court the following day.

Police were also called to a holiday park in the Pwllheli area on Saturday evening to reports of a drunken male behaving aggressively towards security.

He was arrested and charged with being drunk and disorderly, and will appear before court at a later date.

On Sunday morning, officers searched for and arrested Ceiron Dobb, 18, of Blaenau Ffestiniog, who was wanted for breaching his bail conditions in relation to a domestic abuse incident.

He was also wanted on recall to prison.

Dobb has since been charged and remanded in police custody, to appear in court today.

Early this morning (July 8), police were also called to a domestic incident in Pwllheli.

This led to the arrest of a man on suspicion of assault offences against a woman. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
