Thousands has been raised for North Wales’ only children’s hospice at a charity evening.
The Tywyn Friends of Tŷ Gobaith and Talyllyn Mountain Railway hosted a Steam & BBQ night, offering a scenic six-carriage ride, complete with live entertainment and delicious food.
The event included a raffle which gathered prizes like a stay in a shepherd's hut, golf lessons, and Sunday lunch vouchers, raising more than £2,500.
110 people were on board the Dolgoch, the railway's antique loco.
Once the guests arrived from the seven-mile journey, Tywyn's band Totaleigh made the atmosphere lively, and people were treated to hot dogs and burgers at the station café.
The Tywyn Friends of Tŷ Gobaith has 18 members, and their organiser Anita Inman has said: "We raised a total of £2,564 and are thrilled to see the new memory garden at the hospice."
The offering of the train was an act of kindness by thebchairman of the Railway, David Ventry.
The driver Mike Davies, fireman Chris Parrott, and station controller Ian Drummond volunteered their time for the cause.
Jenny Roberts, Tŷ Gobaith’s Gwynedd area fundraiser said, "Despite a bit of rain it was a fantastic evening with everybody in good spirits on this beautiful trip.
"Friends groups like the one in Tywyn are so vital to our hospice not only in the funds they raise but in spreading awareness of our work in the community. We are very grateful to Anita and the rest of the group.
“Every penny raised will help us continue on our mission to reach every family and child in North and Mid Wales that can benefit from our care, respite and counselling services.”
