A MAN from Gwynedd has been jailed after bringing a baseball bat and a knife into a pub.
Gareth Kells, 41, of Pentre Uchaf, Bontnewydd, was sentenced to 14 months’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Crown Court on May 24.
He had previously admitted threatening a person with a knife in a public place, possession of a knife, affray and possession of a weapon in a public place.

On April 26, Kells had been drinking at the Newborough Arms in Bontnewydd when he became involved in an altercation.
He left the pub, but later returned with a baseball bat and a knife.
Pub staff and a retired police officer took the baseball bat and knife from Kells, and he was restrained until police arrived.
District Support Sergeant Andy Davies said: “This was a frightening incident in the community which could have had devastating consequences if not for the quick actions of those present.
