BANGOR railway station had the sixth-most incidents reported to British Transport Police (BTP) in Wales in the last year, figures obtained by the Chronicle have shown.
A freedom of information (FOI) request was submitted by the Chronicle to BTP, asking the organisation to disclose the amount of incidents reported to the force at Welsh railway stations since May 1, 2023.
BTP was also asked to break down these figures into each individual railway station in Wales.
Last week, the force responded with records showing 5,907 incidents reported to BTP in Wales from May 1, 2023 to April 23, 2024 (the day before the FOI request was made).

The figures showed that, in North Wales, only Rhyl railway station (170) had more incidents reported to BTP in this time than Bangor’s 143.
This was only surpassed across Wales by Cardiff (1,049), Swansea (395), Newport (225), Bridgend (213) and Rhyl (170).
Elsewhere in Gwynedd, Pwllheli railway station had 15 incidents reported, Barmouth had 13, Penrhyndeudraeth had 11, Tywyn had eight, Porthmadog had six, Harlech, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Tal-y-bont each had five, Fairbourne and Llanbedr both had four, Minffordd and Criccieth each had three, Llwyngwril had two, and Tonfanau had one.
On Anglesey, meanwhile, Holyhead had 61 incidents reported, Llanfairpwll had seven, Valley had six, and Ty Croes and Rhosneigr had two.
