A PUB in Amlwch marked the 79th anniversary of VE Day with a celebratory event yesterday (May 4).
The Market Tavern, on Mona Street, hosted the event in advance of the anniversary VE Day, which marked the end of the Second World War on May 8, 1945.
Yesterday, the event at the pub featured music from the era, a World War II Land Rover, and people in military and period costume.
The pub was decorated for the occasion, while there was music from singer Helen Pearson, followed by karaoke.
Nadine Rudd, manager of The Market Tavern, said: “Thank you to all of our amazing customers who helped with supplying information, items and their time to make the day so special.
“We cannot thank you enough - we provided the idea and the venue, the rest was down to you guys.
“Thank you all, once again.”
