A NORTH Wales Police officer has denied unlawfully wounding a teenager in an incident in Bangor.
Police Constable Ellis Thomas, 24, of Gaerwen Uchaf, Anglesey, is accused of wounding a boy, then aged 17, outside the Cube nightclub on January 29, 2023.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court this afternoon (April 17).

Thomas’ case was referred to Caernarfon Crown Court, where he will appear on Monday, May 20.
His charge follows an Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) investigation into level of force used by Thomas during the incident.
The IOPC’s investigation began in February 2023 after a complaint referral was submitted by North Wales Police.
At the end of its five-month investigation, a file of evidence was sent to the Crown Prosecution Service, which then authorised the charge against the officer.
North Wales Police said that Thomas remains on restricted duties.
He was granted bail, on the condition that he does not contact the victim.
