THERE has been another fire sparked by a tumble dryer - this time in Gwynedd.

North Wales Fire and Rescue service attended a residential property fire in Mynytho on the eve of Tuesday, April 9.

Crews believe the fire was caused by a tumble dryer within the property.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called at 4.51pm to Cornwall Estate, Mynytho. Four appliances and an aerial ladder platform attended

"Firefighters were in attendance until just after 10.30pm, and two officers have returned this morning to inspect

"A fire investigation will be undertaken this morning, but fire is thought to have involved the tumble dryer."

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service recently issued a public safety message, following a series of similar incidents involving tumble dryers.

This followed a spate of tumble dryer fires which saw crews attending three fires in the space of seven days.

Firefighters attended fires involving tumble dryers on February 28 in Ruthin, March 3 in Buckley and the March 6 in Denbigh.

Paul Kay, Head of Fire Safety for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said: “A fire can be devastating for all involved - causing damage and disruption and in the worst cases, loss of life.

“We’re appealing to residents to follow some simple steps we should all be taking when using our tumble dryers to help everyone stay safe.”
