PEOPLE can watch the demolition of a Anglesey landmark live today.

The demolition of the chimney on the old Anglesey Aluminium site is set to take place today as planned today(Wednesday, March 20).

It is thought it will come down sometime between 2pm and 2.30pm.

Members of the public, who are keen to watch the demolition, are advised to do so from the public footpath parallel to Parc Cybi. Beibo fields has also been suggested as a good viewing area.

However, there is a way of getting the best view of all without leaving your home.

Richard Porter runs a weather station from my home in Trearddur Bay with a live camera to support the weather observations.

The camera fortunately has a good view of the chimney stack, so Richard has pointed the camera in that direction for the next couple of hours so people can watch the event from afar in near real time.

Richard said: "Accordingly, I have arranged for the webcam on this site to be pointed at the chimney stack between 1pm and 4pm on Wednesday (which is when Anglesey Freeport have indicated the roads will be closed in the vicinity) so that those who are so minded are able to view the event from the comfort of their own armchairs, metaphorically speaking.

"No need for drones or getting tangled up with exclusion zones and all that malarky!

"Having consulted my guide to "How to become Baldrick in three easy steps", my powers of deduction and cunning planning/scheming skills suggest that the event itself will probably take place at some time between 2pm and 2.30pm.

"Stay tuned during this time and I am sure the 15-30 seconds of action will be worthwhile!"
