A RUM company from Anglesey won gold at the People's Choice Spirits Awards, their tenth award since launching in 2021.
Anglesey Rum Co, part of Llanfairpwll Distillery, won Gold in the 'Rum: UK Production' category at the People’s Choice Spirits Awards on February 27.
It is Anglesey Rum Co’s tenth award, alongside three silver and a bronze from the London Spirit Awards, four bronze from the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) and a bronze in the World Rum Awards, since launching in 2021.
Rob Laming, co-founder and head distiller, said: "Wow, it is such an honour to be recognised for our Anglesey Rum Co brand.
"I am especially proud of our South Stack Golden Rum which is a pure aged rum with no additives so there is nowhere to hide."
Llanfairpwll Distillery was founded by Rob Laming and Maria Jones in 2018 and decided to start making rum from molasses under the Anglesey Rum Co brand in 2021.
They spent many months researching different types of rum production methods before deciding to use traditional molasses style mixed with modern production techniques.
They are currently one of very few distilleries in Wales producing rum from molasses where they ferment and distil their unique rum at their distillery in Gaerwen, Anglesey.

Rob added: "A lot of people are sceptical about British Rum and are not aware that it is being produced in Wales but when they taste the product people are blown away at the quality and flavours.
"In the grand scheme of things, we are still in the very early days of production and are really excited for our future."
Since launching in 2021, they have added four expressions to their Lighthouses of Anglesey Range including Penmon White, Llanddwyn Spiced, Skerries Dark and South Stack Golden.
In 2023, they started offering tours of their distillery to show the public how and where their spirits are made.
Earlier this year, Rob and Maria opened up their Spirit Academy on the premises, a unique experience where guests learn to distil their own unique bottle of rum, gin or vodka.
