A PUPPY and its owner had to be brought to safety yesterday afternoon (February 13) after becoming stranded on rocks on Anglesey.

Both HM Coastguard and the Moelfre RNLI crew were called to the incident at about 2.30pm yesterday, on rocks near Traeth Lligwy.

An inshore lifeboat launched with three RNLI crew members on board, and both the casualty and dog were found uninjured, but stuck at the foot of the cliff.

The Coastguard team had considered a rope recovery, but it was felt that the best and safest option would be for the RNLI crew to get the casualty and dog aboard its lifeboat.

They were then taken to Traeth Lligwy to be received by the Moelfre Coastguard team members.

With the casualty safely ashore, they reported that they were fit and well and declined any further assistance.

The dog had slipped down the cliff, and when its owner attempted to retrieve the puppy, they too became stuck and were unable to return to the footpath.
