THE Britannia Bridge crossing the Menai Strait has been closed to all traffic due to high winds.
However, the A5 Menai Suspension Bridge crossing is open to vehicles below 7.5 tonnes.
North Wales has been hit by high winds today as Storm Isha arrived in the UK, and an amber weather warning remains in place until 6am on Monday.
Police say driving conditions are bad throught the region, particularly on the A5 and A470 between Betws-y-Coed and Dolwyddelan.
A section of the A494 was closed near Dolgellau due to a fallen tree.
Police said: "We have been notified that the Britannia Bridge is now closed to ALL traffic.
"The A5 Menai Suspension Bridge remains open however the weight restrictions for anything over 7.5t remain. Our officers are patrolling the area to ensure all motorists comply with this order.
"Vehicles that are unable to leave the island are advised to head to Junction 2 Parc Cybi. Those on the mainland are being advised to delay their travel until wind speeds have lowered.
