AN INVESTIGATION will be carried out after a fire ripped through Anglesey council's former headquarters.
North Wales Fire and Rescue service sent five crews to the scene on the evening of Sunday, December 17.
They took to Facebook just after 10.30pm to say: "We are currently in attendance at an incident on Glanhwfa Road, Llangefni.
"Five crews are currently managing this scene after responding to reports of a fire at the Shire Hall building.
"Further specialist crews are en route to assist."
A spokesperson from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said this morning (December 18: "We were called at 9.20pm last night, Sunday, December 17, to a fire at an unused building on Glanhwfa Road, Llangefni.
"At the height of the incident, five crews, two Aerial Ladder Platform appliances, the Incident Command Unit and the High Volume Pump appliance were in attendance.
"Two crews, one Aerial Ladder Platform and the High Volume Pump are currently still in attendance damping down.
"An investigation into the cause of the fire will be carried out later today."
