NEW workplace recycling changes will be coming into force across Wales in spring 2024.
From April 6 next year, it will become law for all businesses, charities and public sector organisations to sort their waste for recycling.
The Welsh Government is introducing this law to improve the quality and quantity of how local councils across Wales collect and separate waste.
Food, paper, card, glass, metal, plastic, unsold textiles and unsold small waste electrical equipment will all need to be separated for collection and collected separately moving forward.
There will also be a ban on sending food waste to sewers, separately collected waste going to incineration and landfill sites and all wood waste going to landfill.
Paper and card can still be mixed together in the same container, as well as mixing metal, plastic and cartons together.
The new law will apply to all businesses, charities and public sector organisations.
