A MAN is to be sentenced next month for carrying a knife and an axe in public in Caernarfon.
Paul Mellor, 38, of Upper Corris, Machynlleth, was found guilty of two counts of possession of a bladed article in public at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on November 3.
The charges related to him carrying both objects at Cae Maen Llwyd Lodge on March 3.
At Caernarfon Crown Court today (November 24), Mellor’s sentencing was adjourned until December 20.

Laura Knightly, Mellor’s defence barrister, told the court that a pre-sentence report had not been able to be completed on his behalf yet.
Mellor also apologised himself during today’s hearing.
Recorder Wyn Lloyd-Jones, presiding over the hearing, ordered that the report be compiled in time for Mellor’s sentencing.
He extended Mellor’s bail, on the condition that he co-operates with those completing his report.
“The fact that I’m giving you bail and a report is no indication of the sentence you’re going to get,” Recorder Lloyd-Jones told Mellor.
“Walking around with an axe and a knife is serious.”
