A MAN from Bangor who stole meat from the city’s Marks & Spencer supermarket has been jailed.
John Wood, 57, of Ambrose Street, was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on November 8.
He admitted a charge of theft from a shop on the same day.
The court heart that, on August 5, Wood stole £149.80 worth of meat from the supermarket, on Garth Road.
Magistrates felt that only an immediate prison sentence would suffice due to Wood’s “flagrant disregard for people and their property”.
No order for costs or compensation was made.
