A NORTH Wales haulier which recently celebrated 50 years in business has nearly doubled the size of its fleet after becoming the newest member of the Pallet-Track network.
Caernarfon-based H.F. Owen, which marked its half-century in 2022, has built its business on traditional long and short-haul deliveries across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Its partnership with Wolverhampton-based Pallet-Track marks its first foray into pallet networks.
Geraint Walker, transport manager and depot principal, said: "We took this as an opportunity to grow the business, and that has led us to Pallet-Track. It will enable HF Owen to offer far more services to the North Wales business community.”
H.F. Owen will cover most of the LL postcode for Pallet-Track, and Geraint said the membership would provide a real differentiator compared to its competitors.
He said: “North Wales is home to lots of traditional hauliers, it’s a really tight market. This gives us a real USP versus the other small and medium hauliers in the area.
“Regular customers of ours will often ask us to carry part load pallet shipments and now that we are members of Pallet-Track it means we can service them far more effectively.
“It is a real step forward for us. Previously before joining Pallet-Track we ran 10 trucks, but we’ve nearly doubled the fleet and employees. The Pallet Track operation is being run from our new Bangor depot which has also expanded our storage offering.”
H.F. Owen added four new DAF tractor units to its fleet to mark its 50th birthday, with two more added earlier this year.

“We pride ourselves on offering really good customer service, and joining Pallet-Track will add to the quality of services,” added Geraint.
Stuart Godman, CEO of Pallet-Track, said: “We really welcome Geraint, and all the H.F. Owen team, to Pallet-Track and it’s great to see the company is already benefiting from the partnership.
“H.F. Owen is our third new member in Wales this year, following Hall Brothers and Mars Jones into our network. It’s another company which prides itself on delivering outstanding customer service, which it has done for many decades.”
