TRIBUTES have been paid to the former treasurer of the Crown Inn Caernarfon and District Pool League following his sudden death.
Steven Tindall, affectionately known as “Twinks”, sadly died last week.
He had played in the league since it was formed in the late 1970s, and was its treasurer for 22 years, serving on its committee for several years prior.
In a statement, the Crown Inn Caernarfon and District Pool League celebrated the life of a man who will be “sadly missed”, and offered Steven’s family its “deepest condolences”.
Its statement read: “His dedication and hard work to the league was second to none. This showed in the fabulous presentation evenings he organised.
“He represented ‘Wales A’ over the years and was a regular in the North Gwynedd county team. His long list of accolades, too numerous to mention, in the league, is a true testament to how good a player he was.
“Every time you played against his team, you would always look for one name on the scorecard, and that was his.
“He was the man to beat and on the rare occasion when you did, the sportsmanship he showed was always encouraging, especially to the younger players.
“He was ‘Mr Caernarfon and District Pool League’; his wealth of knowledge about league matters was something to behold.
“Things will never be the same without him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.”
