A MAN who hit a 14-year-old girl in the eye with a bottle of vodka in Bangor has been jailed.
Gareth Edwards, 42, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Crown Court today (August 14).
This will run consecutively to the current prison sentence he is serving after previously being convicted of repeat burglary offences.
During today’s hearing, he admitted a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Defending Edwards, who had 30 previous convictions for 67 offences, Michael Whitty said he had used his time in custody “productively”.
Despite his record of previous convictions, Edwards is “not a man with a proven record of acting aggressively,” said Mr Whitty, who invited the court to keep the “inevitable” custodial sentence as short as possible.
Sentencing, Judge Timothy Petts also imposed a five-year restraining order, prohibiting him from contacting the girl directly or indirectly.
Edwards will also pay a statutory surcharge.
