HOLYHEAD Town Council have said they are “very disappointed” with the one-out-of-five food hygiene rating given to a café in a park in the town.
Y Pafiliwn / Pavilion Café, in Holyhead Town Park, was given a food hygiene rating of one after assessment on May 24, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The Pavilion Café opened its doors in 2018, with a new modern play area to the rear, and its food menu includes pizzas, breakfast meals, sandwiches and toasties, and kids options.

However, the inspection report into the café rated its management of food safety ‘major improvement necessary’, and the cleanliness and condition of its facilities and building and its hygienic food handling ‘improvement necessary’.
It means that of Anglesey's 136 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 125 (92 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
Holyhead Town Council said they had addressed the problems raised, and had arranged a reassessment.
A Town Council spokesperson said: “Obviously, the Town Council are very disappointed, after many years of continual high hygiene ratings in their various commercial properties.
“All clerical issues raised have been addressed and we are currently awaiting a reassessment.”
