A CHIPPY in Bangor has been named the best fish and chip shop in Wales at a national food awards ceremony.
Valla’s Fish & Chip Shop, located on the High Street, was recognised as the ‘Best Fish N’ Chips Establishment’ at the Food Awards Wales in Cardiff.
Vallas said they were “over the moon” with the result, and said via social media: “We are all so overwhelmed with the love and support shown.
“Little old Valla’s winning best fish and chip shop in Wales.
“Thank you to The Food Awards Wales for the best night - we want to do it all over again.

“And can I just thank my amazing little team for all their hard work and effort they do - we are all over the moon, we cannot believe it.”
A spokesperson for The Food Awards Wales 2023 said: “We received an overwhelming response from the public, who nominated some fantastic establishments across the region.
“These awards are a testament to the passion and dedication of the country’s food industry, and the hard work of those who provide exceptional culinary experiences to their customers.
“The winners should be proud of their achievement, as they represent the very best of the Welsh food scene, and are a true reflection of the quality and diversity of the industry.
“Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists, who have demonstrated excellence in their respective categories.”
