A FIREFIGHTER based in Bala has said goodbye to the service after 15 years’ service in the town.
Riki Rowlands completed his stint as an on-call firefighter at Bala Fire Station last night (June 15), having joined back in 2008.
The station described him as a “popular member of our crew”, adding that “neighbouring stations will remember his humour”.

He was also part of the crew that received a “best station” award in 2019.
Riki said: "I’m honoured and proud to have served my local community for the past 15 years.
“It’s been challenging at times but very rewarding, and I’d like to thank the crew for all the support and fun over the years.
“If anyone is wanting to join, I’d 100 per cent recommend that you do.”
Bala Fire Station added: “We as Bala Station would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all his hard work and commitment over the years.
“We wish him the very best, and he will be missed by all.”
