AN MP lent a hand at a 'chippie' in Valley to mark National Fish and Chip Day.
Virginia Crosbie, Ynys Môn MP, helped out at Sergio’s Fish and Chip shop in Valley, Holyhead, during the lunchtime rush on Friday, June 2.
Chippies across the UK have been struggling of late due to inflation and the rises in the costs of labour, potatoes, and oil.
But the dish remains much loved and Ms Crosbie was "delighted" to go and champion it.
Ms Crosbie said: “Thank you to the owner Kemal Ekmekci for allowing me to try my hand at wrapping up some meals and for talking to me about some of the pressures his industry is facing on National Fish & Chip Day. I was delighted to support it.

"Nothing encapsulates our nation more than crispy battered cod, thick chips and the endless national debate over mushy peas, gravy and curry sauce as an accompaniment.
“But on a more serious note, our chippies across Anglesey need our support if they are to continue to flourish, so I do urge people to go out and put in an order.”
