MEMBERS of a car club in Rhyl held a hugely successful fundraiser event last weekend in memory of a Kinmel Bay man killed in a motorbike crash.

Adam Michael Kenyon, 30, sadly died on Saturday (May 13) after an incident on the A470 near Betws-y-Coed.

To celebrate his life, and to support his family, the Rhyl-based group Midnight Racers, of which Adam was a member, organised a special event at Marina Quay Retail Park on Sunday (May 28).

As well as being husband to Kayleigh, Adam was the son of Kevin and Claire, a brother of three sisters, a grandson, and a father to Tommy.

A total of £510 was raised, all of which will go to Adam’s family, to help with funeral costs and living expenses.

Chris Bell, who helps run Midnight Racers along with Adam Thomas, said: “It was a very good and very busy day - there were easily more than 300 people who came, which we weren’t expecting.

“Some people even came from Stoke to be there. I didn’t think we’d raise the amount of money that we did, either.

“The amount of people who showed their support, and the money that was raised, was amazing. We smashed our target.

“Kayleigh turned up, and cut the balloons that we had at the start. It mean a hell of a lot to her. We had a minute’s silence, and a ‘rev-off’, where all of the cars revved up!

“The recovery truck that he drove was there. We put a donations bucket on the back of that, and a collage of pictures with his old number plate.

“I knew Adam for about 10 years. He was a good friend, and was always there if I needed him.”

In a tribute shared following his death, his family described Adam as “one of a kind”, and a man who had a “huge passion for cars and bikes”.

Adam’s funeral will be held today (May 30).
